Sushmita Ghosh, Professor, at Tiffin University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of biological sciences.

With more than three decades of professional experience in science education, Dr. Ghosh has flourished as a professor of science with Tiffin University since 2008. Prior to this appointment, she served as an adjunct professor and lecturer with numerous institutions including Heidelberg College, the University of Findlay, and the American Institute of Massage Therapy. Additionally, Dr. Ghosh excelled as a postdoctoral research associate at Tulane University Medical Center and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

At the start of her career with Tiffin University, Dr. Ghosh was responsible for developing the science program, upgrading the curriculum, and assisting in the enhancement of the general education program. Additionally, Dr. Ghosh has contributed to the development of a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science and Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, written numerous grants while in research, directed student research, and conducted workshops for prospective undergraduate students to help with recruitment.

A graduate of Calcutta University, Dr. Ghosh earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in zoology in 1981 and 1983, respectively. Soon thereafter, she was granted an opportunity to study as a junior research fellow for the University Grants Commission in India for one year. She then received a Master of Environmental Sciences from Baylor University in 1985 before securing a Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology from Southern Illinois University in 1992. As a respected voice in the industry, Dr. Ghosh has provided her wealth of knowledge to various articles in scientific education.

In recognition of her accomplishments, Dr. Ghosh was presented with the Dupont Scholar Award from Baylor University, as well as the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Samman Award in the House of Lords in the United Kingdom from the NRI Welfare Society. In the coming years, Dr. Ghosh hopes to publish the book she is currently writing. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and watching movies.
