Timothy E. Ektefaei, Band Director at Alto High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
At a young age, Mr. Ektefaei joined his school band. He found that he excelled in music, which generated his sincere devotion to the practice. He followed his passion for music into his undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Arts in music performance from Prairie View A&M University in 2008. Several years later, in 2018, after securing his career, he went on to earn a master’s of education in conducting from the Stephen F. Austin State University.
From 2012 until 2014, Mr. Ektefaei worked as the director of bands at Worthing High School. However, once he relocated to the Alto Independent School District, he knew he had found the perfect place for him to teach. He remains there today, continuing to positively influence every student with whom he works. Under his leadership, the band has won several awards, including Grand Champion Awards in both 2015 and 2019. He believes his key to success is his competitive nature, as his burning desire to succeed has never failed him. Outside of his primary role, he additionally volunteers his time as the band director for the Prairie View A&M Alumni Association. In the future, he looks forward to hopefully leading a collegiate program and earning a doctoral degree in musical art.
