Arthur K. Robertson Jr., Entrepreneur, Minister and Communications Specialist at Effective Communication & Development, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements and leadership in education.
A respected businessman as well as a man of God, Dr. Robertson has excelled as the co-founder and the director of Billing Adjustment Consulting and as the president of the Book Division for E.C. & D. Inc., since 1991. A decade prior, he accepted the position of the president of Effective Communication and Development, Inc., which he holds to this day. In addition to these posts, Dr. Robertson has also served for 19 years as a senior pastor for Ridgeway Church in White Plains, New York.
Previously, Dr. Robertson worked as a professor at the King’s College from 1968 until 1981, a pastor and a teacher at Brooklyn Believer’s Chapel from 1964 until 1972, and as a chaplain and a first lieutenant for the U.S. Army Reserve from 1963 until 1965. He was also senior pastor of Ridgeway Church from 1992 until 2010. Throughout his career, he has consulted for various companies including IBM, General Motors, the FBI, R.R. Donnelly, BMW, New York Life and AT&T. Furthermore, Dr. Robertson authored a number of books, such as “The Gospel of Matthew” in 1975, “Values That Pay: Business Ethics” in 1986, “Language of Effective Listening” in 1991, “Work a 4-Hour Day, Doing Business on Your Own Terms” in 1994 and “Listen for Success” in 1994.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in economics and pre-law from the University of California Los Angeles in 1959, Dr. Robertson pursued a Master of Theology in New Testament and Greek at Dallas Theological Seminary. Subsequently ordained through the Plymouth Brethren Church in 1963, he obtained a Master of Sacred Theology in pastoral psychology from the New York Theological Seminary in 1968 and a PhD in religion from New York University in 1975. Although his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Robertson is especially proud of his performance in the oral exam at New York University, for which he received the highest acclimation of academic excellence from the oral committee.
Moreover, Dr. Robertson maintains his professional affiliation with the International Listening Association, of which he is a founding member, as well as the Westchester County Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, he has also served as the founder and chairman of Westchester County Leadership Prayer Breakfast. He was further active as a member of the advisory board for the Christian Herald SP Foundation. Dr. Robertson has been celebrated many times for his work in the field. Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, he has been featured in the 24th edition of Who’s Who in the East and other editions of Who’s Who in Religion, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in America. Likewise, he had a day named in his honor in White Plains on March 21, 1991.
