In recent years, Dr. Robertson has been focused on helping couples. Early on in his career, Dr. Robertson recognized there was an increase in couples getting divorces. With concern for the members of his parish and the healthy survival of marriages within his community, he began to explore the common reasons behind the increase. In his studies, he became most interested in poor communication skills occurring within relationships and how that lead to marital issues. He concluded that most, if not all, marital problems stemmed from poor communication. With his experience teaching effective listening skills to major companies, with 95 percent of managers reporting positive changes following his services, Dr. Robertson adapted these lessons to counsel couples. Through this venture, the Marriage Mirror was launched along with the help of co-creators David Benner, PhD, Bernard Guerney, PhD, Peter Hill, PhD, Roger Petersen, PhD, Jack Mills and Bob Monahan. The Marriage Mirror is designed to assist and counsel married couples by providing learning materials and resources. In recent years, Dr. Robertson has been able to offer these services online, extending his reach to couples beyond his community. Marriage Mirror is built around the foundations of listening, speaking and processing the environment of communication for couples.
