Myra Jacobsohn, PhD, Former Research Associate Professor at Hahnemann University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Research.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Jacobsohn was a research associate professor with Hahnemann University from 1984 to 2018. In addition to her primary role, she served as a professor of biology with Arcadia University from 1990 to 2002, having been an associate professor of biology since 1984. Earlier in her career, she was an assistant professor with the school from 1976 to 1984. A contributor of research articles to professional journals, she has published five articles in Pennsylvania Heritage Magazine.
Prior to the start of her career, Dr. Jacobsohn first pursued an education with Barnard College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1960. She continued her studies with the University of Pennsylvania, completing a Master of Science in 1962. She then joined Bryn Mawr College, earning a PhD in 1975. She is a member of the American Association of the Advancement of Science and the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Dr. Jacobsohn was attracted to becoming a biochemist, biologist, and an educator because of the interest she developed in plants at a young age. In a career filled with highlights, she is proud of the work she put towards her doctoral thesis which has since been quoted by other scholars. Looking to the future, Dr. Jacobsohn would like to spend more quality time with her husband and getting another one of her works published.
