Title: Secondary School Educator (Retired)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana, United States
Kathy A. White, Retired Secondary School Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of business education.
Ms. White went into teaching because she wanted to enlighten young students about the benefits of receiving an education. As a teacher, she could easily do so, which was initially her primary motivator. However, throughout her career, she has come to cherish her relationships with her students much more. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Ball State University in 1966, and later, in 1968, she received a master’s from Indiana University.
With the necessary credentials and an unwavering passion, Ms. White quickly found a position as a teacher at North Central High School and JEL Career Center in Indianapolis. She taught business administration there from 1968 until she retired in 2000. Ball State University awarded her efforts in 1988 by giving her the title of Outstanding Alumni Business Teacher, which is just one of the many awards she has been given. While she appreciates the physical recognition, the true highlights of Ms. White’s career are the accomplishments of her former students. She delights in seeing them succeed.
Outside of her primary roles, Ms. White is a member of the Administrative Management Society, the American Vocational Association, and the National Business Education Association, among many other professional organizations. She has additionally participated on the advisory council for the Indiana Women’s Prison and the advisory committee for IUPUI. As a further testament to her success, Ms. White is featured in the 4th edition of Who’s Who in American Education and the 17th edition of Who’s Who of American Education.
