Frank Mayer, PhD, Former Professor at California State University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in history education.

With nearly 40 years of professional experience, Dr. Mayer was a history professor at California State University, Los Angeles, from 1990 to 1997. Earlier in his career, he was a legal assistant with Lewis, D’Amato, Brisbois, and Bisgaard in 1979. In addition to his primary roles, he has served as a history consultant for the National Video Commission, Inc., and he was on the California State Advisory Committee for the United States Civil Rights Commission. He has been active as a Eucharistic minister with the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels since 2002.

Dr. Mayer first pursued an education with California State University, San Francisco, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1964. He continued his studies with the aforementioned school, receiving a Master of Arts in 1969. He later joined the University of Southern California, earning a PhD in 1987. A veteran of the United States Army, he has also completed postgraduate coursework internationally with the University of Oxford and Humboldt University of Berlin, and he has been certified as a legal assistant by the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Mayer is considered an expert in German and American relations during the Cold War. He considers the highlight of his career to be receiving a grant from the John F. Kennedy Presidential Life Library Foundation to write a book on Mr. Kennedy.
