With more than 20 years of experience to her credit, excelled as a teacher of family and consumer sciences at Forest Hills Senior High School in Sidman, Pennsylvania, from 1982 until her retirement in 2003. Now a business owner, she operates Stan & Mea’s Craft Shoppe in Dunlo. Combining her love for sewing, arts and crafts, Ms. Ambroe creates products to sell that range from art deco clocks and key holders to birdhouses and luminaries.
Prior to her prestigious career as an educator, Ms. Ambroe graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1967, earning a Bachelor of Science in family and consumer science. Ms. Ambroe was mentored by Dr. Brown, a professor at Indiana University, who sparked her enthusiasm for chemistry. An active member of her community, Ms. Ambroe volunteered as a co-advisor at St. Benedict’s Outdoor Garden Ministry in 2011, a sewing teacher at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College from 2008 to 2010, a coach of the Central-Western Scholastic Quiz League from 1981 to 2002 and a co-advisor of the National Honor Society at Forest Hills High School from 1984 to 1991.
To remain abreast of changes in her field, Ms. Ambroe maintains affiliation with several organizations including the National Education Association, the Forest Hills Education Association and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. In light of her many achievements in the field, Ms. Ambroe has earned a number of accolades. She has been featured in several editions of Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who of American Women and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
