Kristi Morehouse, former K-5 Gifted and Talented Teacher at the Lewis Central School District, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in teaching.
With nearly 35 years of professional experience, Ms. Morehouse was a K-5 gifted and talented teacher for the Lewis Central School District from 2006 to 2017. Prior to obtaining this role, she was a fourth and fifth grade teacher with the district from 1997 to 2006, having been an elementary special education teacher since 1985. Earlier in her career, she was a junior high school resource teacher with Clarinda Community School District from 1984 to 1985. She has also served as the Jr. Treynor Women president and as the board president of St. John’s United Church of Christ. She is the former president of the Alpha Delta Kappa Iowa Iota Chapter (2016-2017).
Ms. Morehouse first pursued an education with the University of Northern Iowa, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and special education in 1984. She continued her studies with Creighton University, completing a Master of Science in learning disabilities in 1992. She later joined the University of Iowa, earning a gifted endorsement in 2007. She maintains affiliation with Alpha Delta Kappa, the Florence Citizens Patrol in her town, and serves as Countryside RV Resort Ambassador. She is a Beachbody on Demand coach and a Norwex consultant. Ms. Morehouse is a former member of the National Education Association, the Iowa Education Association, the Lewis Central Education Association, and the Sat-Ra Temple #59 Daughters of the Nile, and the Alpha Delta Kappa Iowa Iota Chapter.
