Linda McCune, Educator at Greenville Technical College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in art education.
With nearly 50 years of expertise to her credit, Ms. McCune has garnered a notable reputation as a gifted artist and educator. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1974. After completing postgraduate coursework at the aforementioned institution, she secured a Master of Fine Arts from the University of South Carolina in 1982.
A certified teacher in Tennessee and South Carolina, Ms. McCune began teaching art at the Walters State Community College in Morristown between 1973 and 1977. Moreover, she briefly served as a lecturer in the field, before assuming employment with the University of South Carolina as a graduate assistant and, later, a teaching associate, from 1980 to 1986. Currently, Ms. McCune continues to educate students at Greenville Technical College, where she additionally holds the titles of academic program director and lead professor of fine arts and art education for the department of visual arts.
In light of her outstanding accomplishments as an educator, Ms. McCune has been named as Greenville Technical College’s Professor of the Year. She has also been the recipient of the South Carolina Governors Award for Distinguished Professorship, the Carl Blair Award for Commitment to Arts Education in 2019, and the National NISOD Award was bestowed to her at the University of Texas. Outside of her illustrious career, Ms. McCune enjoys traveling, visiting museums, and seeing antique shows in her spare time.
