Tracey Roberson, Teacher at Lawton Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in teaching.
With more than 30 years of professional experience, Ms. Roberson has been a teacher with Lawton Public Schools since 2010. Prior to obtaining her current position, she was with the United States Army, serving with the military police and corrections departments from 1988 to 2008. In addition to her primary roles, she has been active with the Boys and Girls Club. She intends to continue her work in the field, hoping to go into administration as a principal.
Ms. Roberson pursued her higher education with Upper Iowa University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in public administration of law enforcement and sociology in 2005, also receiving a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Cameron University the same year. She continued her studies with Cameron University, completing a Master of Education in secondary education and teaching in 2011. She later joined Southeastern Oklahoma State University, earning a Master of Arts in administrative leadership in 2011. An Apple-certified teacher, she holds a teaching certificate in the state of Oklahoma.
Ms. Roberson was inspired to pursue a career in the field by her father, who was a teacher and an Air Force Veteran. She also continues to take inspiration from her students, whose ability to grasp new concepts she finds very rewarding. She attributes much of her success to remembering her roots and to her ability to empathize with people. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her contributions. Named a Masons Teacher of Today, she was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award from Lawton Public Schools.
