Marjorie Keppel Gross, Educator at Productive Environment Institute, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in educational entrepreneurship.
A graduate of Western College, Ms. Gross received a Bachelor of Arts, with magna cum laude honors in 1963 and a Master of Arts from Miami University in 1965. She later completed postgraduate work at the University of Cincinnati between 1971 and 1973. Originally a mathematics major in college, Ms. Gross received a two-year teaching assistantship at Miami, where upon she discovered a passion for teaching adults. Following her retirement as a staff member of Carteret Community College in 2010, Ms. Gross became a Certified Productive Environment Specialist and currently serves in an administrative role with the Productive Environment Institute.
At the start of her career, Ms. Gross worked on the advisory board for the home maker’s division of the Department of Agriculture Extension Office in Cadiz, Ohio, between 1975 and 1979. Ms. Gross also edited her first book – which was written by a friend – titled “Giving Thanks in All Things: Prayers by a Person with a Brain Tumor.” Outside of her primary endeavors, Ms. Gross has been a small business owner of Beacon of Opportunity in Newport since 1997.
To remain aware of developments in her field, Ms. Gross maintained her affiliation with numerous organizations including the North Carolina Mathematics Association of Two-Year Colleges and the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In 1997, Ms. Gross was honored by her peers with an Excellence in Teaching Award. A celebrated Marquis listee, she has been featured in Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who of American Women.
