Prior to obtaining her current role, she was a reading specialist with Ashbrook Elementary School and Bobby’s Run School from 2004 to 2010 and a resource program teacher with Lumberton Middle School from 1993 to 2004. Earlier in her career, she was a resource program teacher with the F.L. Walther School from 1982 to 1993.
Ms. Matlack first pursued her higher education with La Salle University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 1982. She continued her studies with the College of New Jersey, earning a Master of Education in 1988. She is certified in the states of New Jersey as an instructional supervisor, an elementary educator, and a reading specialist, and holds additional certifications in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania as a teacher of the handicapped. For her contributions to the field, she was named the Teacher of the Year by Lumberton Middle School, was recognized as a BCPSA Visionary Leader, and was the recipient of a School Leader Award from the New Jersey School Boards Association.
