Freida Scott, ThD, Parent-Teacher Coordinator at Raising Innovations in Special Education, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in special education.
A leading expert in the areas of special education and religious studies, Dr. Scott is a parent-teacher coordinator with Raising Innovations in Special Education. In preparation of her career, she pursued her higher education with Jersey City University, completing a Bachelor of Arts in early childhood education in 1977. She continued her studies with Columbia University, completing a Master of Arts in teaching and curriculum in 1980. She then joined United Bible College and Seminary, earning a Doctor of Theology in 1984. She is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Dr. Scott was inspired to pursue a career in the field by her own experience with having her child labeled, and learning how it could serve the family rather than to rule over it. Always committed to helping her neighbors, she wanted to help other parents learn the same lessons, and learn how to handle the concept. She strives to help children of all types gain acceptance.
Throughout her career, Dr. Scott has been recognized for her contributions. The recipient of an East Florence Board of Education Award, she was given the A+ Teachers Award by the New Jersey Jets and an Excellence in Teaching Award by the Evangelical Bible Institute. She attributes her success to finding a purpose in life and pursuing it relentlessly.
