Robin DeMark, Bee School Education Director for the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership.
Ms. DeMark began her career as a graduate student library instructor and part-time reference staff member at the East Carolina University Joyner Library in Greenville, North Carolina, a position she held from 1991 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995, she was a reference and business librarian for the Wayne County Public Library, and subsequently worked as a reference librarian and the library director at the Pope Air Force Base Library. After two years as the marketing director of the Fourth Services Squadron in the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Ms. DeMark accepted the positions of the chief of community relations and the emergency response manager for the Fourth Fighter Wing Public Affairs at the base, which she held from 2001 to 2011.
From 2011 to 2014, Ms. DeMark served as a public affairs officer for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and subsequently acted as the vice president of the board of directors for the Duplin County Beekeepers Association in Kenansville, North Carolina. Since 2016, she has held the post of the Bee School Education Director for the Beekeepers of the Neuse in the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association. Ms. DeMark considers the highlight of her career to be helping set up a children’s computer lab, which was recognized by the air combat command—thanks to her efforts, she received funding to establish computers in every library throughout the air flight command. She is proud of her military service, having served in the Civil Service, the United States Air Force, the United States Army and United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
In pursuit of her higher education, Ms. DeMark attended East Carolina University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1984 and graduating with an MLS in library and information science in 1993. She holds myriad professional certifications, including being a certified public librarian in the state of North Carolina and being certified as a library quality assurance evaluator by the HQ Air Force Services Agency. Ms. DeMark is additionally certified in services marketing management, holds a public affairs officer qualification, earned a certificate from the United States Office of Personnel Management and is a certified beekeeper in the state of North Carolina. She cites Dr. Diane Kester as a mentor who motivated and inspired her, and as a further testament to her success, experience and stature, she has been featured in the 57th and 58th editions of Who’s Who in America as well as the fifth and sixth editions of Who’s Who in American Education.
