Bonnie Beyer, Dean, Education Professor, Writer, Researcher at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in education administration.

Dr. Beyer was inspired to enter the field of education by her mother, who was an educator with a master’s degree from Rosary College in Illinois and served in the Christian Brothers School as a school librarian. Dr. Beyer has long viewed education as a necessity and in preparation for her career in education, she earned Bachelor of Arts in psychology and secondary education from Elmhurst College, a Master of Science in educational administration, Northern Illinois University, and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Vanderbilt University. Since 1995, Dr. Beyer has served the University of Michigan-Dearborn in various capacities. Her roles as of 2014 include working as the professor of educational administration, coordinator of educational leadership programs, Master of Arts in educational administration program, director of education specialists, and co-director doctor of education, and she will fulfill these obligations until her retirement on April 30, 2020.

The highlight of Dr. Beyer’s career was her election by her colleagues to be president of the Michigan Association of Professors of Educational Administration and serving on the board to a full capacity for eight years. Additionally, she was proud that her colleagues elected her to be on the executive board of the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership. Both honors were a recognition from her peers for her ability to serve and work together toward equality education to all students. Dr. Beyer is also proud of her articulation work in Scotland and that she visited six universities in Ecuador to make sure schools were globalized. As a testament to her success, Dr. Beyer has been lauded with the Susan B. Anthony Award from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, among other awards, and has been featured in the 27th edition of Who’s Who of American Women as well as in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
