Anne Schroer-Lamont, University Administrator and Psychologist, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in psychology education and educational administration.

In preparation for her career, Dr. Schroer-Lamont attended the University of Strasbourg in France, where she earned a diploma of modern French studies in 1966. She completed further coursework at Defiance College in Ohio, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1967, and began her career as a foreign language teacher at the Washington Irving High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia. Dr. Schroer-Lamont became a graduate teaching assistant in French at Washington State University in 1968, and continued her academic pursuits, earning a Master of Arts in 1972. She accepted a position as the director of career development and counseling at Houghton College in New York City in 1974, holding this post for seven years, and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a PhD in 1977.

As a certified counselor, career counselor and clinical mental health counselor, Dr. Schroer-Lamont worked as a university counseling psychologist at Texas A&M University from 1981 to 1985, and transitioned to a role as an associate dean and psychologist at Washington and Lee University, where she leveraged her experience and excelled for 20 years. She is noted as the first dean hired at Washington and Lee University to bring in co-education. In addition to her professional pursuits, she has also contributed to the Virginia Network for Women Leaders as an executive committee member since 1997, and maintains an affiliation with numerous professional organizations, including holding a lifetime membership to the American Psychological Association. As a testament to her success, stature and experience, Dr. Schroer-Lamont received the Outstanding Alumnae Award from Defiance College in 2012, and has been selected for inclusion in the 18th, 21st and 22nd editions of Who’s Who of American Women and the 23rd edition of Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.
