Florence L. Denmark-Wesner, a Robert Scott Pace Distinguished Research Professor of Psychology at Pace University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of psychology education.

In preparation for her career, Dr. Denmark-Wesner studied at the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1952 and a Master of Arts in 1954. She continued at the university, earning a PhD in 1958, and started as a psychology lecturer at The City University of New York (CUNY). In 1964, she began as a professor, and in 1967 she became an affiliate doctoral member of the psychology faculty at the institution. After more than 15 years of professional service, Dr. Denmark-Wesner rose to the rank of full professor of psychology at CUNY in 1984, and in 1988, she accepted a position as the Robert Scott Pace Distinguished Research Professor of psychology and chairman of the psychology department at Pace University. In 1990, she became an adjunct professor at CUNY, and she continues to serve in her positions at both CUNY and Pace University to this day. While active as a professional in her field, she continued her education, earning a doctorate in psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1995.

Dr. Denmark-Wesner was recognized for her excellence in the field of psychology with honorary doctorates from multiple institutions, including the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (now William James College) in 1985, Cedar Crest College in 1988, and Allegheny College in 1998. In addition to her work as an educator, Dr. Denmark-Wesner has contributed to a variety of published works, including co-editing “Women in Leadership” with Michele Paludi in 2018, the third edition of “Psychology of Women” in 2017, “Engendering Psychology” in 2000, and “Females and Autonomy: A Life-Span Perspective” in 1999. Dr. Denmark-Wesner in a fellow of the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Psychological Association, and has received myriad awards, including recognition for mentoring and co-founding from the Association for Women in Psychology in 2019. As a testament to her stature, experience and success, Dr. Denmark-Wesner has been included in multiple editions of Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in America.
