For Ms. Holly, teaching was always her passion. Coming from a supportive family, she also received encouragement from her parents, Lucindy and Horatio Cobb, who were also Sunday school teachers. Moreover, she attended Florida Atlantic University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications, a Bachelor of Science in geography, and a Master of Arts in American history and education. She has certifications in elementary education, secondary education, and was endorsed for Speaker of Other Languages.
At the start of her career, Ms. Holly worked as a darkroom technician for the Lundy Technician Center in Pompano Beach, Florida from 1977 to 1986, while contributing as a photographer and photojournalist with the Florida Observer until 1982. During this time, Ms. Holly also excelled as a teacher for the Zion Lutheran School in Deerfield Beach, Florida, until her departure in 1987. Furthermore, Ms. Holly served as a social studies, English, and a mathematics teacher for Broward County Public Schools in Florida, from 1987 until her retirement in 1999. In a career filled with several highlights, she is proud to have met former students and receive accolades on how she has impacted their lives. For her accomplishments in the field, she has been featured in the 21st edition of Who’s Who of American Women. Looking to the future, Ms. Holly plans to continue her work in genealogy.
