H. Eugene Forrester, Agriculture Educator, Consultant, and Owner at Forrester Consulting Service, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of agriculture education.
As a student, Mr. Forrester attended Washington State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and a Bachelor of Engineering in 1951. He is a certified teacher and vocational director in the state of Washington, and from 1954 to 1956, he served in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He served in the United States Air Force Reserve until 1974, when he was honorably discharged. Before he began his military service, Mr. Forrester served as a teacher of agricultural education for the Ellensburg School District, and after returning to civilian life, he continued to work there until 1972.
In 1972, Mr. Forrester started as the supervisor of agricultural education and the superintendent of public instruction for Olympia, Washington, where he worked for a decade. In 1982, he continued as the superintendent of public instruction, taking on the role of director of agricultural education, and in 1991, he retired. Upon his retirement, he started Forrester Consulting Service, where he works to this day as owner and consultant.
In recognition of his excellence, Mr. Forrester received a Governor’s Citation from the State of Washington in 1991 and a Meritorious Service Award from the Washington Commission for Vocational Education in 1985. He has contributed multiple articles to various professional journals, and he is proud of being named one of the top 25 teachers in the United States in 1969. From 1960 to 1976, Mr. Forrester owned a commercial hay and cattle ranch, and from 1960 to 1970, he was a liaison officer in the United States Air Force Academy.
Mr. Forrester has maintained memberships to a variety of professional organizations, including the American Vocational Association, the Washington Vocational Association, the National Vocational Agricultural Teachers Association, and the American Association of Retired Persons, among others. As a testament to his success, experience, and stature, Mr. Forrester has been included in the fourth edition of Who’s Who in American Education.
