Nancy Moore, Secondary School Educator at West Nassau High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of education.
As a student, Dr. Moore attended Aurora University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in computer science and math in 1991. She worked as a developer for AT&T Bell Laboratories (now Lucent Technologies) until 1996, when she started as a teacher for Assumption Catholic School in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1999, she transitioned to a role as a teacher for Callahan Middle School, and in 2000, she earned a Master of Science in educational leadership from Nova Southeastern University. In 2002, she became an adjunct instructor at Florida Community College.
In 2003, Dr. Moore left her position at Callahan Middle School and started working as a teacher at West Nassau High School, where she remains to this day. She continued her studies at Capella University in St. Paul, Minnesota, earning a Doctor of Education and authoring her dissertation “Constructivism Using Group Work and the Impact on Self-efficacy, Intrinsic Motivation and Group Work Skills on Middle-school Mathematics Students” in 2005.
Dr. Moore is certified in Educational Leadership for all levels and additionally holds Mathematics certifications for grades five to nine and grades six to 12. For her excellence in teaching, she has been recognized with multiple awards, including receiving the Golden Apple Award and being named to NHR’s Outstanding American Teachers. She is additionally a member of the FTCE Mathematics 6-12 Standard Setting Committee for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, among others.
Working with children has always interested Dr. Moore, and she combined this interest with her passion for mathematics. To her, the highlight of her career has always been the relationships she has with her students, and she is proud to see her students grow and pursue their careers. As a testament to her success as an educator, Dr. Moore has been included in the 28th edition of Who’s Who of American Women, as well as multiple editions of Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in America.
