Nancy Jensen, Music Educator and Private Piano Teacher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of music education.
Ms. Jensen has had a long connection with music, and for her tenth birthday, she received a piano as a gift. Since she first began to play, she knew that it was what she was meant to do, and has devoted her life to spreading her passion for the piano. She began her higher education at San José State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1964 and a Master of Arts in 1967. She is a certified Master Teacher in Music, receiving the Master Teacher Award from the Music Teacher National Association in 1991. Since her graduation, Ms. Jensen has worked as a private piano teacher in Los Altos, California.
In addition to her work as a private piano instructor, Ms. Jensen is a member of multiple music organizations. She has served multiple terms as the president of the Los Altos Branch of the Music Teacher’s Association of California (MTAC), and from 1974 to 1979, she served as the state chair for the organization. She acted as the piano panel chair of MTAC, certificate of merit, from 2007 to 2013, and is a member of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers. Since 2010, Ms. Jensen has acted as the artistic director for the Steinway Society of the Bay Area, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in piano performance and music education, and since 2015 she has been a member of the board of directors. As a testament to her experience, success, and dedication to music education, Ms. Jensen has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in American Education, and Who’s Who in America.
