Noomi Katz, Prof in Occupational Therapy Medical Educator Emeritus Hebrew University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in health education.
Dr. Katz started occupational therapy many years ago, by chance, during a time when she was trying to figure out what she would do as a career. After she gave it a try, she discovered that she enjoyed it and earned her bachelor’s degree in Jerusalem, Israel. Dr. Katz then completed additional coursework in the United States, earning a Master of Arts in occupational therapy and a Doctor of Philosophy in health education from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1981. This gave her greater opportunities for research and advancement in her own country and she became a licensed occupational therapist.
Dr. Katz became a professor at Hebrew University in 2002, having previously served as the chairman of graduate programs in the School of Occupational Therapy since 1990. She took on her current position as the chair of the research center at Ono Academic College in 2007, calling it one of her most significant career moves. An expert voice in the field, Dr. Katz is the author of the fourth edition of “Occupation & Cognition” and is an active member of the Israeli Society of Occupational Therapy and the American Occupational Therapy Association, from whom she achieved an Academy Research award in 1995. Furthermore, she has been featured in the second edition of Who’s Who in Asia and the 26th edition of Who’s Who in the World, as well as multiple editions of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
