Robert E. McCorkle, Agribusiness Educator at California Polytechnic State University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of agriculture.
Mr. McCorkle was raised in ranching and farming and along with his brothers, he got involved in farming groups. He pursued an education at California Polytechnic State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in farm management and then moved on to the University of California, Davis to obtain his Master of Science in Agricultural Economics in 1962. While there, he worked as a research statistician and from 1962 to 1966, Mr. McCorkle worked as an assistant professor of agricultural business at California Polytechnic State University. Within that time, he completed postgraduate study at both the University of Wisconsin and Oregon State University. In 1967, after discovering an affinity for agricultural business and a need for it during his travels in Zambia, Mr. McCorkle excelled as a ministry of agriculture for three years before reentering the field of academia.
Between 1970 and 2001, he found success in teaching at California Polytechnic State University as a director of international education, an associate professor of agricultural management, and a professor of agribusiness. Mr. McCorkle then obtained the title of professor emeritus from the university in 2001 and is also currently an international consultant, partner, and corporate secretary for McCorkle Farms, Inc. in Willows, California. Notably, he is the author of “Guide for Farming in Zambia” and has been recognized with a U.S Peace Corps Strategy Grant and the Centennial Honor Roll. In recognition of his achievements, he has been featured in the 34th edition of Who’s Who In Finance and Business, the 30th edition of Who’s Who In Finance and Industry, and multiple editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the West, and Who’s Who in the World.
