James Marlin Oswald, Energy Conservation Consultant, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in social and cultural studies.

Prior to the start of his career, Dr. Oswald pursued a formal education at West Texas State College and earned a Bachelor of Science in 1957 as well as a Master of Arts in 1958. Consequently, he began working as a teacher and supervisor for Salt Lake City Public Schools from 1958 until 1966, further becoming a curriculum specialist for the American Institutes of Research for two years. Soon thereafter, he accepted an internship with the Washington Leadership Academy, while working as a staff associate with the National Council of Social Studies, between 1968 and 1969. Upon the completion of a Doctor of Education from Stanford University in 1970, Dr. Oswald became an assistant professor of social studies and social sciences at Syracuse University in New York, from 1969 to 1972.

As he progressed through his career, Dr. Oswald served as a research writer and director of global cultural studies education project with American University for three years, later joining East Penn School District in Pennsylvania as an assistant superintendent of instructions in 1975. Subsequently, he contributed as a field coordinator of citizen education with Research for Better Schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1978 to 1980. He has worked as an instructional development specialist for Community College of Philadelphia, between 1980 and 1996. Furthermore, Dr. Oswald has contributed as an energy conservation consultant since 1959. In addition to his primary endeavors, he has served as a financial and retirement planning consultant since 1980 and has held the post of president and co-founder of several organizations. A retired veteran, Dr. Oswald served in the United States Army and the Army Reserve from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1968. A recipient of numerous accolades, he has also been presented the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
