As a financial advisor, Mr. Handy leverages his education and extensive professional experience to help his clients reach their financial goals. His career began in the United States Navy, where he rose to the rank of electrician’s mate, second class before his honorable discharge in 1962. He attended Portland State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in history and political science in 1969 and went on to earn a Master of Arts in American diplomatic history, specializing in the history of United States relations with China.

Mr. Handy then took his skills to College of the Mainland (COM) in Texas City, where he worked as the director of continuing education and community services from 1972 to 1974. Utilizing his expertise in foreign affairs, Mr. Handy later served as the director of international programs at from 1975 to 1976, when he left COM and became the founder and executive director of the Gulf Coast World Affairs Council. In 1979, as a part of the US-China Peoples Friendship Association, Mr. Handy was given a three-week high-level briefing tour of the People’s Republic of China. In 1981, he was selected as the delegate to the European Community Visitors Program.

After accepting the post of executive director of the Houston World Trade Association in 1984, Mr. Handy organized and led the first southern U.S. legal delegation to the People’s Republic of China, in order to study their legal system, in 1988. Following this achievement, he continued his success by bringing his unique expertise to Developmental Resources International in Houston, where he served as president for over a decade, until 1999. At the same time, Mr. Handy worked as the executive director of the Brazoria County History Museum in Angleton, Texas, from 1992 to 1999, when he left to accept his current position with ViaQuest Financial Group.

As a financial advisor representative with ViaQuest, Mr. Handy employs his expertise and knowledge of the global economic landscape to assist his clients in achieving their financial goals. He has also worked as an editor for the Foreign Affairs journal, an international editor for InBetween Magazine, a book reviewer for the Houston Chronicle, and a feature writer for Northwest Magazine. Having spent almost 20 years expertly serving his clients at ViaQuest, he plans to retire in the near future, intending to work on his memoir and write about his professional history in foreign affairs. As a testament to his success, Mr. Handy has been featured in the 18th and 21st editions of Who’s Who in the World, as well as multiple editions of both Who’s Who in the South and Southwest and Who’s Who in America.
