Alva Cellini, Language Educator, Women’s Studies and Translator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in language and women’s studies education.
As a professor at St. Bonaventure University, Dr. Cellini teaches language, culture, and the literature of Spain and Latin America. In addition, she focuses on courses that relate to Hispanic women writers. She is the Director of the Women Studies Program and teaches the Women’s Study 101 and Introduction to Women Studies classes. She began teaching with St. Bonaventure University in 1989 and has remained a dedicated member of the faculty since joining the institution. She has served as an advisor for the APO Service Organization and of the LASO-Latin American Association of Students Organizations-Academic at the university.
After many years of hard work in her own academic pursuits, Dr. Cellini earned a PhD from Binghamton University. She considers the greatest career achievement thus far to be receiving her full professorship. In addition, she has received a Teaching Excellence Award, a Professional Excellence Service Award and a Faculty Recognition Award from the university. Dr. Cellini became involved in her profession because she always had good role models in teachers throughout her early life.
