Title: Secondary school educator (Retired)
Location: Howe, Indiana, United States
Kevin Paul Beuret, retired secondary school educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in middle school education.
For more than four decades, Mr. Beuret committed himself professionally to the advancement of academia for students at the middle school level. Now retired, he was known for his astute ability to spot out students who were struggling and find a way to help them learn in a way that was best for them. He concluded his career with the Westview Junior Senior High School located in Topeka, IN. While there, he was the coordinator of English as a new language. Previously, he found success as a teacher of English, Latin enrichment and cultural enrichment at the Lakeland School Corporation, staff announcer for C.P. Broadcasting, Inc., and fifth grade teacher at the St. Joseph’s School. Driven by a love of teaching that became evident in the early years of his career, Mr. Beuret was honored for his work with a Hoosier Teacher of English Award by the Indiana Council of Teachers of English. He was also elected as a Rotary Foundation fellow and a Lilly Endowment Fellow.
Mr. Beuret prepared for a career in education by first accomplishing his own academic goals. After achieving a bachelor’s degree, he took postgraduate coursework at Pontificia University in Colombia and Monash University in Australia. From there, he completed a Master of Science at Indiana University in 1974. When asked of his achievements in his career, Mr. Beuret notes that he was very inspired by his parents, who were both natural born teachers and learners although neither of them was afforded the opportunity to complete their college educations. A great point of pride for Mr. Beuret is that he was able to make them proud through his extensive work. In his retirement, Mr. Beuret volunteers at a used bookstore that benefits a local no-kill pet shelter. As he looks to the future, he intends to continue in his civic work while taking on passion projects and hobbies.
