Shelley Conroy, Dean and Professor of Nursing at Baylor University, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in nursing education.
Driven by a strong desire to help others, Dr. Conroy first pursued the nursing field by earning a BSN from the Medical College of Virginia (Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine) in 1977. She later earned a Master of Science in nursing from the institution in 1983 and an EdD from the University of Central Florida in 1993. She became a registered nurse in 1977 and a certified nurse educator in 2012. Since 2012, she has been the dean and a tenured professor at the Louise Herrington School of Nursing at Baylor University.
Since 1993, Dr. Conroy has taught as a professor and nursing program head at the John Tyler Community College. She has also previously been the atrium director of the Johnston-Willis Hospital, the director of Maternal-Child Health at Winter Park Memorial Hospital and assistant professor of nursing at the University of Central Florida. Earlier in her career, Dr. Conroy served as the director of quality assurance, utilization review and risk management at Park Place Hospital, as a child abuse prevention coordinator at the Mental Health Services of Osceola and as an adjunct faculty member of Florida Southern College.
