Roslyn Haley, Educational Program Director, Professor at California Online Community College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.
Though Dr. Haley did not initially believe she would become an educator, her time working at the University of California, Los Angeles, allowed her to realize she was destined to share her talents with the world of academia. She worked at UCLA first as an admissions evaluator before holding the roles of counselor in the School of Public Health, head counselor of the UCLA School of Theater and director of student, counseling and recruitment services for the UCLA School of Theater. Dr. Haley remained with the institution until 2005 and undertook other pursuits, including working in Dubai at Zayed University, United Arab Emirates. She served as an associate professor and director of student success and faculty chair of the Department of Advising and Academic Development and presently holds emeritus status with the institution. What resulted in her time in Dubai were her publications and involvement in academic organizations as Zayed University, United Arab Emirates, wanted to establish a student success program and knew Dr. Haley would be instrumental in facilitating the program.
Dr. Haley is particularly proud of her appointment as dean of Counseling and Matriculation at Antelope Valley College in Lancester, CA, since she knows her great-grandfather would be proud of this accomplishment. Dr. Haley has also been a an adult education teacher for the LA Unified School District, a state coordinator of the California March for Jesus, an administrator of the Command Center Convoy for of Hope in Palmdale, CA, on the school site council for Palmtree Elementary School and on the California board of directors for the Antigua Barbuda Horticultural Society. She hold membership with esteemed organizations such as the American Educational Research Association, the Wilfandel Historic Society for African American Women and the California Association Community College Matriculation Officers. Dr. Haley helped Zayed University, United Arab Emirates, win the Middle East North Africa Illusiant Student Success Innovation Award in 2019 and with this award, Dr. Haley knew her work with the institution was complete. She returned back to the United States and is currently a faculty curriculum development lead coordinator for California Online Community College.
