George Walendowski, Retired Professor of Accounting and Business at Los Angeles City College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of higher education and accounting.
With a deep love of education and sharing his knowledge, Mr. Walendowski has been instrumental in cultivating the minds of others. He most recently served as an adjunct professor of accounting and business at Los Angeles City College from 1995 to 2012, previously working in business and finance. Mr. Walendowski worked for the Hughes Aircraft Company from 1979 to 1995, holding positions such as senior financial analyst, financial planning specialist, program controls specialist, and business management specialist. He began his time in the workforce with the Unocal Corporation, where he worked as an accountant, data control supervisor, and accounting analyst, all from 1973 to 1983.
In preparation for his pursuits, Mr. Walendowski earned numerous degrees and certifications. He received an AA from Los Angeles City College in 1968 before attending California State University, Los Angeles, where he earned a BS in 1970 and a MBA in 1972. He remains thankful to his parents, Stefan and Eugenia Walendowski, who influenced him greatly and inspired him to earn his masters. Furthermore, Mr. Walendowski holds certification in Business Analysis, Finance Accounting, and a Master Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Villanova University as well as a Certificate in Leadership from Cornell University. Mr. Walendowski has a true love of learning and though his specialty is accounting, he consistently takes courses or studies various subjects in order to expand his knowledge.
Though Mr. Walendowski is retired, he remains intellectually active. He reviews conference papers and online tutors others in mathematics and finance, which he has done since 2011. As a testament to his success, Mr. Walendowski earned accolades including, but not limited to, a Certificate Of Outstanding Service from the Editorial Advisory Board of the Institute of Management Accountants, the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Academy of Management Business Policy and Strategy Division, and a Superior Performance Award and Certificate of Outstanding Achievement from the Hughes Aircraft Company. He is particularly proud of receiving an International Society for Philosophers Associates Award in 2011 and a fellowship award with the organization in 2016.
Mr. Walendowski is proud that he never gave up on his dreams and advises others to remain steadfast in pursing their goals. He believes that once people achieves their goals, they will feel proud of their work and grateful they never gave up. As a testament to his success, Mr. Walendowski has been featured in numerous editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who In Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders in America.
