Mignon Hale, Substitute Teacher at Howard County Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary education.
With more than 50 years of professional experience, Ms. Hale has been a substitute teacher for Howard County Public Schools since 1994. Prior to obtaining her current role, she was an elementary teacher with Cherry Hill Public Schools from 1990 to 1994, having been an elementary teacher and resource teacher for the gifted and talented at Howard County Public Schools from 1977 to 1990. Earlier in her career, she was director of the Home Day Care Center from 1973 to 1977 and an elementary teacher with DC Public Schools from 1968 to 1971.
Ms. Hale began her career as a student at District of Columbia Teacher’s College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1966. She continued her studies with Johns Hopkins University, earning a Master of Science in 1977. She later completed coursework with Rowan University. Ms. Hale is a certified teacher in the state of Maryland, and she is certified in supervision, reading, and she holds an alternate certification in special education.
A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Hale has been an active leader in her community. She is a member of the American Association of University Women, the National Association of State University and Land Grant Colleges, and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. She has also been affiliated with the Wright State Organization for Women, Phi Delta Kappa, and Alpha Lambda Delta.
