Sallyann Berendsen, Tutor, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in mathematics.
With nearly 60 years of professional experience, Ms. Berendsen has been a tutor since 2006. Prior to obtaining her current role, she was a department chair, mathematics teacher, and director of computer science with Far Hills Country Day School from 1976 to 2002, a summer school teacher with Seton Hall Academy from 1988 to 1990, and a teacher with Newark Academy from 1983 to 1985. She was previously a teacher with Hanover Park High School in 1976, and with Stone Ridge Country Day School of Sacred Heart from 1968 to 1972. Earlier in her career, she was a teacher with Slauson Junior High School from 1965 to 1967 and with Walter Johnson High School from 1961 to 1963.
Ms. Berendsen began her career as a student at Madison College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in education in 1961. She continued her studies with Montclair State College, earning a Master of Arts in mathematics in 1976. She has been certified as a teacher in the states of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Michigan.
