A leading expert in the field, Dr. Ham was a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Oklahoma from 2003 to 2009. In addition to her primary role, she was the director of health and safety service for the American Red Cross, and she has served as an online professor for undergraduate conflict resolution courses. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma. She was prompted to go into education upon watching her mother and relatives who were all teachers. Watching them up close, she realized that academia was a field she would really enjoy to pursue.
Throughout her career, Dr. Ham has been recognized for her achievements. She has received awards and accolades for her contributions and accomplishments. She has been featured in numerous honors publications, and she was the recipient of the Rufus Hall Outstanding Professor Award. One highlight that stands out to her is her work with the American Red Cross in Baton Rouge, LA and in Texas. She was tasked with merging these chapters which was a big undertaking. However, Dr. Ham succeeded and was able to reassure the public and chapters that the Red Cross would remain in these areas.
