Margaret Geringer, chair of first aid services at American Red Cross, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in first aid.

With more than 50 years of professional experience, Ms. Geringer has been chair of first aid services at the American Red Cross for 46 years, and a CPR first aid instructor for Good Samaritan Hospital. In addition to her primary roles, she was a teacher with Oak Grove School District for 32 years and an associate professor at California Polytechnic State University from 1971 to 1972. Earlier in her career, she was a teacher with Craven County Schools from 1970 to 1971 and with Charter Oak Unified School District from 1967 to 1969.

Ms. Geringer began her career as a student at Antelope Valley College, where she obtained an Associate of Arts in 1965. She then joined California State Polytechnic University, completing a Bachelor of Science in 1967. She continued her studies with the school, earning a Master of Science in 1972. MS. Geringer is certified as an emergency medical technician, a CPR first aid instructor, and a notary public. She became involved with the Red Cross when she was in college as a friend of hers had luekemia so she decided to donate some blood to him. Discovering she has rare blood, Ms. Geringer on her 26th gallon donated with the Red Cross.

A respected voice in her areas of interest, Ms. Geringer has been an active leader in her community. She is a member of the California Teachers Association, the Oak Grove Educators Association, and the California Association of Counseling and Development. She greatly enjoys watching her students achieve and grow through the science fairs and winning awards, considering it rewarding to watch her students accomplish a great deal. As a testament to her success, Ms. Geringer has been featured in numerous honors publications, including Who’s Who of American Women.
