Title: Elementary School Educator
Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States
Marilyn Ann Rabideau, Retired Elementary School Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in grades first through eighth education.
During her career spanning 40 years, Ms. Rabideau has been able to shape and help develop generations of students. She joined the faculty at Janesville Public Schools in 1961, and remained as an elementary educator at the institution until her retirement in 2001. Though retired, she continues to call upon her love of education as a presenter at the Lifelong Learning Institute, but this time around teaches adults. In 1995, her hard work was recognized with a Certificate of Excellence by the Wisconsin for Academically Talented Youth. She has also provided her time and experience in a number of civic engagements, including the Rock County Extension Homemakers, the Faith Lutheran Church, the University of Wisconsin and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
When determining her vocation there weren’t many options for women at the time. She chose to go into teaching as she didn’t want to be a nurse, and received a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Wisconsin in 1961. Knowing the value of continuing to learn, she received a Med from National Louis University in 1996. Throughout her career, she maintained professional affiliation with Phi Beta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Lifelong Learning Institute, the Atonement Lutheran Church of Green Bay and the Women’s Health Initiative.
