Kenneth L. Wise, Former Political Science and International Studies Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education.

Driven by a love of learning and the desire to positively influence students on their academic journeys, Dr. Wise celebrates a career that spanned 53 years. Now retired, he held prominent roles in his tenure including director of policy research for the Dubai Public Policy Research Center, director of the international relations graduate program at Creighton University, associate professor of political science at Creighton University and teaching fellow for the School of International Service at American University. In addition, Dr. Wise was the vice president of The Wise Choice Consulting, president of InterChange International, Inc., consultant for the information office of the North Atlantic Treaty Association in Brussels, and council member for the InterUniversity Center.

Dr. Wise was inspired to go into his profession because of his father, whose job was to sign assurances that allowed refugees from World War II to come to America. With some refugees staying with his family for months, he decided that he wanted to go into political science and international affairs. To prepare for his career, Dr. Wise earned a Bachelor of Arts from Midland Lutheran College in 1961, a Master of Arts in international law and organization from American University in 1965, and a PhD in international studies in 1967.  Considered an expert in his field, he remained at the top of his industry through his memberships with the Nebraska United Nations Association, the Omaha United Nations Association, the American Society of International Law, Global Education Associates, the International Studies Association, the American Political Science Association, the Atlantic Council of the United States, Pi Sigma Alpha, Pi Epsilon, Alpha Sigma Nu, and Phi Beta Delta. Looking ahead, Dr. Wise intends to continue enjoying his retirement while taking on passion projects.
