Dr. Robert Morgan, Professor Emeritus of French and Mathematics, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in teaching.

An award-winning teacher who has more than four decades of professional experience, Dr. Morgan is highly regarded for his expertise in the subjects of French and mathematics. Now retired, he concluded his illustrious career in 1998 as a professor and chairperson for the department of foreign languages at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. He worked for the institution for 31 years, having previously taught at Wingate College (Now Wingate University), and Wadesboro High School (Now Anson High School). Driven by a love of education, Dr. Morgan notes that he is most proud of the number of his former students who are making an impact on the world.

Dr. Morgan is a graduate of the Lenoir-Rhyne College, where he earned a Bachelor of Art in 1956, and the University of North Carolina, where he achieved a Master of Education and a Ph.D. in 1961 and 1971, respectively. His areas of expertise include French grammar, French culture, mathematics, analytic geometry, algebra, and trigonometry. In recognition of his excellence, he has been the recipient of a Fleming-White Award for Excellence in Teaching, a Special Citation by the Ministerial Board, a J.R. Anderson Memorial Mathematics Award, and a Ten Year Award for Event Staffing at Isothermal Community College. Active in his local Baptist church, Dr. Morgan spends his retirement enjoying his biggest hobbies and passions in life. In the years to come, he intends to travel the world and to continue in his work with his church.
