Janice Fosse-Thomas, Retired Teacher at Springfield Public Schools, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in elementary science education.
A leading expert in her areas of interest, Ms. Fosse-Thomas has been retired since 2002. Prior to her retirement, she was a second-grade teacher with Springfield Public Schools. She previously served as a fourth-grade teacher at Williston Public Schools. Earlier in her career, she was a fourth-grade teacher with Great Falls Public Schools. She has been recognized in her career with a President Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Elementary Science in 1999 and as the Newest Participant at the NASA Research Center in 1989.
Ms. Fosse-Thomas began her career as a student at Southwest Missouri State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education in 1974. She continued her studies with the school, earning a Master of Education in 1979. She has been certified as an elementary educator. Growing up in rural North Dakota, she gravitated to what opportunities were available to her at the time. She first attended a teacher’s college 70 miles away from her hometown and found that she enjoyed the field and decided to pursue education further.
