Karen Parker Rothberg, Secondary School Educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in foreign language education.

Dr. Rothberg is distinguished for many years of service to education as a secondary school educator. Prior to retirement, she worked at the Cherry Creek High School in Colorado from 1984 to 2003, and the Cherry Creek Schools from 1976 to 1984. She also garnered experience as a research consultant for the Community College of Denver in the early 1970s. Dr. Rothberg taught Latin throughout her career and enjoyed the interactions she had with both students and faculty. One of the highlights of her career was being selected as the Foreign Language Educator of the Year.

In her own academic pursuits, Dr. Rothberg earned a PhB from Wayne State University, and a Master of Arts and PhD from the University of Denver. While studying, she realized that teaching seemed like a good career option because she enjoyed working with young children, and hoped to spend more time with them during her summers.  She was always academically-oriented and the decision to become an educator wasn’t a hard one for her to make. Throughout her career, Dr. Rothberg has maintained professional affiliation with the American Academy in Rome, the Classical League, the Speech Communications Association and the Vergilian Society. She is still involved in the educational field as a tutor.
