Bonnie Capehart, Retired English Educator at Bonita Vista Middle School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in English and mathematics education.

Ms. Capehart knew a career in education was the path for her as she always loved children and wanted to be a part of her success. She believes the success in her career has been based on her determination to help children unlock their potential. Throughout the years, she has figured out different techniques and methods to motivate children in the direction of their success, since everyone’s path is different. She remained a committed educator by staying in contact with parents and keeping an open line of communication. Ms. Capehart understood the important role parents play in their child’s success and worked on motivating them as well to be active in their learning development.

From 1999 to 2006, Ms. Capehart worked as an AVID coordinator and English Teacher at Southwest Middle School. She then joined Bonita Vista Middle School in 2006 and remained at the school until her retirement. While at Bonita Vista, she also provided her services as a mathematics support teacher, AVID coordinator and newspaper advisor. She prepared for her career in education by first earning a Bachelor of Arts in applied arts and sciences at San Diego State University in 1987. She later received a Master in Teaching from National University in 2005. She was instated as a certified teacher in the state of California.

Throughout her career, Ms. Capehart has maintained professional affiliation with a variety of organizations that have aided in her development. These affiliations include memberships with the National Education Association, the California Teachers Association, the National Council of Teachers of English, the Tennessee Genealogical Society and the San Diego Genealogical Society. She was recently honored with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Outside of her love of teaching, Ms. Capehart enjoys genealogy, reading, gardening and photography. She has been featured among several editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women.
