Nancy B. Bjorklund, Ph.D., Retired Professor of History at Fullerton College, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in history and higher education.
Inspired to enter the realm of teaching by her family who were composed of educators, Dr. Bjorklund commenced her career as a student at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in 1962 and 1964, respectively. After gaining prominence in the field, she received a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, Irvine, in 1987. Starting her professional career as an instructor at Leeward Community College in 1971, a position she held for one year, she subsequently served as an instructor at Saddleback College from 1973 to 1977 and Rancho Santiago Community College from 1974 to 1984. Ascending the ranks of success, she was promoted to teaching associate and assistant professor at the University of California, Irvine, between 1978 and 1984. Concluding her career in 2014, she served as a professor of history at Fullerton College, a position she held for 30 years.
Dr. Bjorklund has maintained affiliation with the Pacific Coast Conference on British Studies, the National Endowment for the Humanities and Phi Beta Kappa. A two-time grantee of the University of California, Irvine, in 1982 and 1984, she has contributed myriad articles to professional journals during her tenure in education. Civically involved as well, she chaired the board of higher education and campus ministries at the Methodist Church and California Pacific Conference from 1999 to 2003.
The proud mother of three children, Dr. Bjorklund has been recognized for her successes in the industry. She was highlighted in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the West, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who of American Women. She enjoys writing in her spare time.
