William Wooding Sihler, DBA, Financial Consultant at Southeastern Consultants Group Ltd., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in business and higher education.
The former Ronald E. Trzcinski Professor in the Darden Graduate Business School at the University of Virginia from 1984 to 2015, Dr. Sihler is a prominent financial educator who currently served as a financial consultant for Southeastern Consultants Group Ltd. Prior to these roles, he served the University of Virginia as director of the Taylor Murphy Center, associate dean of academic affairs in the Darden Graduate Business School, A.J. Morris Professor, full professor and associate professor beginning in 1967. He commenced his career as an instructor and assistant professor at Harvard University in 1964, holding the role for three years.
Dr. Sihler holds a Bachelor of Arts in government, summa cum laude, Master of Business Administration with high distinction, and Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard University. Having formerly sat on the visiting committee of the School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, he also serves on the board of directors of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation and as president of Southeastern Consultants Group Ltd. He has contributed myriad articles to professional journals and authored a number of books, including “Smart Financial Management: The Essential Reference for the Successful Small Business” in 2004.
In light of his many accomplishments, Dr. Sihler was named a C.J. Bonaparte Scholar and Sheldon Fellow of Harvard University and received the Del K. Jay Prize from Harvard University. In addition, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Professor Award from the University of Virginia Alumni Association. Impressively, he has been highlighted in several editions of Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in Finance and Industry, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.
