A distinguished figure in the fields of counseling and education, Ms. Soileau most recently served as a family life counselor at the Pickering High School for Military Families in Fort Polk, LA, from 2016 to 2017. Prior to this appointment, she was a school counselor at the Goose Creek Independent School District in Baytown, TX, from 2002 to 2016. Earlier in her career, she served as a clinical manager and director of various counseling centers in Lake Charles, LA, as well as held multiple teaching positions during the formative years of her career. Alongside her primary endeavors, she has been a life agent through the National Life Group.
To prepare for her distinguished career, Ms. Soileau received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1963. After gaining prominence in the field, she returned to her education and earned a Master of Education from McNeese State University in 1992. Since that time, she has earned certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) by the Texas Board of Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors, a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors in North Carolina, and a Licensed Professional Counselor by the Louisiana Board of Examiners. Earlier in her career, the Texas Board of Education certified her as a principal for EC through twelve grade. Furthermore, Ms. Soileau taught at Channelview High School from 2002 to 2005.
As a testament to her success, Ms. Soileau has garnered multiple accolades. She received the Distinguished Service Award for Best Counseling from the Texas Counseling Association in 2013, which she cites as the absolute highlight of her career. In addition, she was featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who of American Women in recognition of her contributions to the counseling and education industries. The proud mother of three children and grandmother of three grandchildren, she enjoys traveling and reading in her spare time.
