Ramon John Aldag, Ph.D., Skillrud Family Chair in Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in management and higher education.

Drawing upon more than 50 years of experience in teaching and research, Dr. Aldag is a renowned expert on decision-making, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior and culture, group decision processes, task design and computerized decision aids, among other disciplines. He has been a professor of management and organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1982, as well as the Skillrud Family Chair in Business since 2001. During his tenure at the University of Wisconsin, he has also served on multiple committees and chaired the department of management and human resources in the university’s School of Business. Prior to serving the university, he commenced his career as an engineer in the aerospace industry, having cultivated a passion for management while teaching courses at Michigan State University in the formative years of his career.

A frequent consultant to various businesses and industries since the 1970s, Dr. Aldag holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Philosophy in management from Michigan State University. Among the highlights of his career, he is most proud of his myriad publications, which includes the authorship of several books and articles to professional journals. He has also served as an editor of various publications and the editor-in-chief of the Oxford University Press Research Encyclopedia of Business and Management since 2014. He also cites serving as president of the Academy of Management as a crowning achievement during his tenure, where he has also remained involved as division chair, vice president, program chair, deputy dean, dean and on the board of governors. He currently maintains fellowship with the organization as well.

In light of his many accomplishments, Dr. Aldag has been a grantee of the department of health at the University of Wisconsin and the National Science Foundation. He received the Administrative Research Institute Award and the Jerred Distinguished Service Award. Enjoying bicycling, gardening, reading, fishing and traveling in his spare time, he has also been featured in Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who in the World.
