Miriam Iben, Educator and Researcher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in the field of mathematics education and research.
Passionate about teaching children and providing them with opportunities for growth, Dr. Iben pursued a career in education. She has been a teacher, professor, consultant and researcher throughout the course of her career and now enjoys her retirement. Dr. Iben earned a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from Brandeis University as well as a Master of Education and a Doctor of Education with a focus on administration, both from the University of Illinois. She also holds certification in secondary mathematics, science and administration and supervision from the state of Illinois. Dr. Iben has positively affected the lives of her students during her time teaching in public schools in Champaign, IL, and Lincoln, MA. She has also been a secretary and adjunct professor at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign.
In addition to her role as an educator, Dr. Iben has served as a research associate for the Pennsylvania State University. She has taken her talents abroad, serving as a researcher with Niigata University in Japan and in Russia. Dr. Iben has been a consultant for public schools and universities throughout the United States as well as for Australia and Japan. In recognition of her success, Dr. Iben has been affiliated with the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association, the Champaign Social Science Club, Phi Delta Kappa International, Kappa Delta Phi and has served as the president of the Champaign Social Science Club since 1995. Dr. Iben has had an illustrious career and has been featured in multiple editions of Who’s Who in the Midwest and Who’s Who of American Women.
