Ronald Paul Kern, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer at RAN Global, Inc., has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in higher education and academic administration.

Desiring to be a teacher since he was very young, Dr. Kern was propelled by the idea of helping disadvantaged families and contributing positively to his community. Earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio, he later on received a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of North Texas in 1990. He commenced his career as a department chair and teacher at Permian High School in 1981, later on serving as a professor, dean and curriculum director at Odessa College between 1984 and 1997. During his tenure, he also acted as a curriculum director for Maypearl Independent School District, a coordinator for Collin College, and vice president of academy affairs at Western Oklahoma State College. At the turn of the century, he also held the role of director of Texas Tech University and the principal and owner of XStream Computers until 2006.

During the latter half of his career, Dr. Kern served as a teacher of computer science at Highland Park High School from 2004 to 2006, dean of the graduate school at Kaplan University from 2005 to 2009, and dean of Nova University from 2009 to 2013. The chief academic officer of Concorde Career College from 2013 to 2014, he has been serving as the chief executive officer of RAN Global, Inc., since 2014. Alongside his primary endeavors, Dr. Kern has served on several committees and boards for various universities across Texas, and he has been a consultant in the field since 1988.

In light of his accomplishments, Dr. Kern has garnered multiple accolades. He was a finalist for Educator of the Year by the Texas Computer Education Association, and he was named Distinguished Professor of the Business and Industry Division by Collin College. Also recognized as Teacher of the Year by Samuel Clemens High School, he was the recipient of a Teaching Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. In addition, he was named a Distinguished Bandmaster of America by the State of Arizona for his contributions to various band programs, which he cites as a highlight of his career.
