William D. Brakemeyer, Retired English Teacher at Azariel Blanchard Miller High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in music, English and education.

Supported by more than 35 years of practiced experience in education, Mr. Brakemeyer is a respected educator who most recently served as an English teacher at Azariel Blanchard Miller High School in the Fontana Unified School District in California from 1991 until his retirement from the industry in 2004. Prior to this illustrious role, he served as a longtime music and English teacher at the Jonathan Alder Junior High School in the Fontana Unified School District from 1972 to 1991. He commenced his career as a music, language arts and social studies teacher in the Lancaster Central School District in California from 1968 to 1972. Additionally, he holds certifications in gifted and talented programs, community college and adult education, and elementary and secondary school education.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Brakemeyer pursued formal education at San Fernando Valley State College, now known as California State University, Northridge, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1968. He concluded his education in 1979, receiving a Master of Arts from California State University San Bernardino. In an effort to remain abreast of recent developments within the field of education, he maintained affiliation with the California Association for the Gifted, the California Teachers Association, and the National Education Association. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the industry, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award in 1976.

When he is not teaching, Mr. Brakemeyer is a prominent artistic director and church organist, lending his expertise in music and composition to several choral compositions and religious works. The artistic director of the Raincross Master Chorale since 2014, he has also been a church organist and choral director since 1965. Likewise, he was formerly the district lead music teacher of the Fontana Unified School District and maintained membership with the Heisey Club of California, where he served as president, treasurer and newsletter editor. As a testament to his success, Mr. Brakemeyer was selected for inclusion in the 60th edition of Who’s Who in America.
