Jianhua Ren, Ph.D., Professor at the University of the Pacific, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in chemistry and higher education.
Dr. Ren, a prominent educator and expert on matters of physical organic chemistry, has amassed more than 15 years of professional excellence in her field. She commenced her career as an assistant professor at the University of the Pacific in 2002, thus ascending the ranks of success to associate professor in 2008 and full professor in 2013. During this time, she has also co-chaired her department.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Ren earned a Doctor of Philosophy from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, in 1999. She has maintained involvement with Project SEED through the American Chemical Society, a nonprofit organization that works in partnership with school districts, universities and foundation to teach advanced mathematics to students in supplement to their regular course load. Founded in Berkeley, CA, in 1963, the program also uses mathematics to offer a diverse range of educational options to at-risk students.
Dr. Ren was inspired to delve into her profession due to her love for learning and sharing knowledge, and her crowning moments of her career have always been witnessing her graduate students succeed in their studies and become employed with their dream jobs. As a testament to her success, Dr. Ren received research grants from the American Chemical Society and the National Science Foundation. She has been highlighted in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.
