Sarah Overstreet Midyett, a Retired Author, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in religious education.
Growing up, Ms. Midyett dedicated herself to constantly living according to God’s word. She read through the Bible four times before she went to Columbia Bible College and twice while she was there. Additionally, every Saturday, she would mark parts she felt God was speaking to her through. Ms. Midyett believes this devotion kept her on track as she sought to help other build their own relationship with God. She ended up graduating from Columbia Bible College with a Bachelor of Arts in biblical education and a Master of Arts in biblical education in 1949 and 1954, respectively. She also completed graduate coursework at Wheaton College. While she was completing her studies, she garnered hands-on experience as a professor’s assistant at Columbia Bible College.
Degrees in hand, Ms. Midyett set out to make her mark on the world. She became an international marketer of Christian curriculum, the creator of biblical instruction and training materials, and the developer of Bible curriculum for home schoolers in the United States. She also owned a company called Bible Discoveries. In total, Ms. Midyett authored 15 Bible-teaching study books, as well as the book, “J.T.: Another Mighty Midyett.”
