Doris Marie Kee, Retired Biology Educator at Norwalk High School, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Educators for dedication, achievements, and leadership in biology and education.
Drawing upon more than three decades of industry experience, Ms. Kee is a respected and beloved educator who taught biology at Norwalk High School in Connecticut for 30 years between 1967 and 1997. Now retired, she dedicates her time to her local church, where she has previously traveled on sojourns and mission trips to various countries across the globe. Visiting South Africa and Switzerland, she has educated in other countries and worked in clothing stores. In addition, she has visited over 20 countries in Europe and Africa, where she has participated in congregations and local meetings with other churchgoers. Ms. Kee commenced her career as a teacher at Chittenango High School in New York in 1963, holding that role for three years.
To prepare for her illustrious career, Ms. Kee pursued formal education at Harding University in Searcy, AR, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in biological education in 1963. Completing postgraduate work at Syracuse University in New York four years later, she subsequently completed a Master of Arts in biology at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, CT, in 1974. Inspired to enter the field of education by her family, who were all educators and librarians, she is most proud of having the opportunity to delve into a fulfilling career as a woman.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of education, Ms. Kee has been highlighted in multiple honors publications, such as Who’s Who in American Education and Who’s Who of American Women. A native of Hamlin, TX, she enjoys traveling, reading, tutoring and attending church in her spare time.
